Hear from The Wolf of Wine, Jermaine Stone, and legendary New York Times Wine Critic Eric Asimov in conversation.
JERMAINE STONE:
From rapping to packing boxes in the shipping department at Zachy’s, to the first ever black commercial wine auctioneer, right through to being heralded as one of Wine Enthusiast’s 40 under 40, Bronx native Jermaine Stone’s rise in the wine industry has been driven by one key mission; to challenge the narrative about and for black men in America. In founding Cru Luv Selections, an innovative creative agency based in NYC, Stone has found a space that can use marketing, brand partnerships, and content creation to connect wine and hip hop cultures to bring wine to an audience traditionally ignored.
ERIC ASIMOV:
Eric Asimov is the chief wine critic of The New York Times, a position he assumed in June 2004 after having covered wine with The Times’s tasting panel and in his Tastings column for the Dining section. He has been writing about wine since 1999!

This month, we are excited to host a panel on work-life balance, featuring some amazing women who are making great strides in several different industries!
Panelists:
Rose Washington-Jones is known as a catalytic leader in the Tulsa community. As Chief Executive Officer of Tulsa Economic Development Corporation (TEDC), she oversees the development and implementation of services and resources for more than 500 Tulsa entrepreneurs and small businesses each year. Over the years she’s earned countless accolades for her work, including the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Oklahoma Minority Small Business Champion of the Year and The Journal Record’s Most Admired CEO awards, all while building a strong connection with the diverse and innovative community she serves.

Katie’s journey began with Ever Something, focusing on events, weddings, and PR narratives, underscoring her belief in the power of kindness, authenticity, and dedication.

Join contemporary artist timo fahler, and Kate Green, Chief Curator & Nancy E. Meinig Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art, for a gallery talk in the Sun Room to celebrate the Tulsa-native’s new exhibition, his first in a museum in his home state of Oklahoma.
fahler (b. 1978), who now lives between Los Angeles, California, and Amsterdam, visited Philbrook frequently as a child. Today he is known for artworks that combine earth, stained glass, metal rebar, plaster, and other materials to speak to the history of land and labor through material and form.
timo fahler: shrug atlas features a new series of sculptures fahler produced for Philbrook, including several large-scale, colorful stained-glass objects. Incorporating references to a range of Indigenous mythologies and contemporary culture, fahler’s images and objects are grounded in the past while suggesting a future of intertwined cultural strands that explores the region’s economic, cultural, and environmental past, present, and future.

For Chris Renzema, becoming an artist was something that happened slowly but inevitably. Chris was always drawn to writing and playing songs, but his hometown of Grand Rapids, Michigan didn’t have much of a music scene. After moving to Nashville in 2015 to pursue a career in music, he’s seen slow but steady success. Since then, the musician, songwriter, and producer has released three albums: 2018’s Be the Branches, 2020’s Let the Ground Rest in 2020 and 2021’s Get Out of the Way of Your Own Heart. Chris’ latest album, Manna, recorded in January at Nashville’s Sound Emporium, represents a culmination of everything he’s done so far. The album reflects on big questions while remaining both personal and accessible.
While Chris has garnered numerous accolades, including being named on Pandora’s “Artist to Watch” list and earning a GMA Dove Award nomination for New Artist of the Year, it’s his dynamic live shows that have truly cemented him as a musician on the rise.

ABOUT MEZCLAVE
The words Mezcla (mixture) and Clave (Afro-Caribbean instrument and Rhythm) combined give us the meaning and understanding of this seasoned group of musicians and what they are all about. Edwin Canito was inspired to start this group in 2000 after years of influence from the music of Tito Puente, Eddie Palmieri, Conjunto Libre, and the “FANIA” era of salsa music.
